A Discussion of Requirements & Benefits for Specification of a New Installation, Retrofit and Routine Maintenance Testing Protocol for LV VFD/ASD Projects

This presentation and the accompanying paper will highlight a 7-point testing program which is designed to be utilized during VFD/ASD start-ups and within routine maintenance programs within commercial and industrial applications. 

The goal is to determine the VFD harmonic profile, proper VFD/ASD operation, drive diagnostics, and effective and stabile output/secondary motor circuit performance for any given drive topology. Key elements will be to note and highlight abnormalities within line, drive and load operation which can compromise operation, efficiency and longevity of the assembly and components. Discussion of proper testing specification and reporting routines will be reviewed.
